Molten Rift

A carved form shaped by heat and internal pressure.

Molten Rift draws from molten surfaces pulled apart under tension—voids opening through a dense outer shell to reveal a glowing interior. The structure feels eroded rather than built, with irregular cavities cut into the form, creating depth, contrast, and a sense of controlled rupture. When illuminated, light gathers within and diffuses outward through these openings, while the surrounding surface remains darker, shaping shadow and defining the form.

Light Experience

Designed for atmosphere, not intensity.

Each lamp includes a curated low-lumen bulb, approximately 136 lumens, selected specifically to complement the form. The reduced brightness allows the structure itself to speak, preventing harsh hotspots and instead producing a soft, dimensional glow that moves through the folds.

Light gathers within the layered geometry and diffuses outward, creating a warm, enveloping presence that shifts subtly as you move around it.

The result is closer to firelight than overhead illumination, ambient, sculptural, and deeply warm.

Materials & Build

3D printed using high-quality PLA with a refined matte surface.

Each piece is formed through precision layering, allowing the folded structure to emerge gradually through controlled geometry and material thickness. The design balances strength and translucency, so light reveals the form from within rather than sitting on the surface.

Mounted on a weighted metal base for stability and balance, paired with a premium woven fabric cable for a clean, tactile finish.

Includes a warm 2000K LED bulb tuned for low-lumen ambient lighting.

Available with a standard inline switch, or upgraded with an inline dimmer for adjustable brightness and greater control over atmosphere.
