Marine Fringe

A sculptural form shaped by suspended motion and living marine texture.

Marine Fringe draws from the wispy, clustered movement of underwater anemones and drifting marine growth, with fine strand-like forms gathering across the surface in soft, organic layers. The structure feels suspended rather than fixed, creating a sense of quiet movement and depth that shifts with changing light and perspective. When illuminated, light gathers within and diffuses outward through the layered surface, while the surrounding fringe remains softly shadowed, revealing texture, contrast, and subtle dimensionality throughout the form.

Light Experience

Designed for atmosphere, not intensity.

Each lamp includes a curated low-lumen bulb, approximately 136 lumens, selected specifically to complement the form. The reduced brightness allows the structure itself to speak, preventing harsh hotspots and instead producing a soft, dimensional glow that moves through the folds.

Light gathers within the layered geometry and diffuses outward, creating a warm, enveloping presence that shifts subtly as you move around it.

The result is closer to firelight than overhead illumination, ambient, sculptural, and deeply warm.

Materials & Build

3D printed using high-quality PLA with a refined matte surface.

Each piece is formed through precision layering, allowing the folded structure to emerge gradually through controlled geometry and material thickness. The design balances strength and translucency, so light reveals the form from within rather than sitting on the surface.

Mounted on a weighted metal base for stability and balance, paired with a premium woven fabric cable for a clean, tactile finish.
